The final stage of the betting hand involves the dealer putting a fifth card on the board that anyone can use. This is called the river, and for the final time players get the chance to bet/check/raise/fold. If any players have a high card poker hand they will win the pot. If none have a high card poker hand then the pot will be split amongst the remaining players.
